Propylene (PP) is a semi-rigid, transparent, easily shaped, economical polymer produced as a result of polymerization with the help of a catalyst. Atactic, isotactic and syndiotactic propylene with different properties can be prepared.

Propylene has good chemical resistance, but is affected by chlorine, nitric acid and other strong oxidants. While resistant to visible light, UV-rays degrade the surfaces of materials made from propylene. It is non-toxic and can be burned at a slow rate. It has good heat resistance when properly modified.

Polypropylene types are:

- PPH (Homopolimer)
- PPRC (Random Kopolimer)

The most important feature that distinguishes PPRC from others is that it can be used in sanitary installations and hot water installations, as well as having the feature of welding hot plate.
